Salvation Army camps serve the total personal and spiritual needs of campers through a creative, healthful experience in an outdoor setting, while teaching them about the love of Christ. We host children, from all over Northern California and Northern Nevada, who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in camp. The spiritual emphasis and the positive environment are healing, transformative, and at the heart of what we do.

Last year, we provided nearly 1,000 under-served children with an enriching summer camp experience.

Most of our campers come from underserved areas—and Camp Del Oro is an exceptional opportunity.  Our campers learn about ecology and enjoy campfires and hikes, ultimately going home with a better understanding of themselves and our world.

Camp is filled from morning to night, all week long, with fun and exciting activities, including:

• Swimming in the lake or pool
• Boating/canoeing/kayaking
• Arts and crafts
• Nature hikes
• Music/singing/cabin skits/drama
• Basketball
• Soccer, volleyball, baseball, challenge course
• Environmental education
• Outdoor living skills

That's one week of joy. One week of friendship, nature and communion with God. One week without the stresses of home, and being accepted for who they are.
